5 mistakes to avoid when washing your car
Share
Do you think you're doing a good job by washing your car yourself? Beware, here are 5 mistakes many people make (which can ruin the paintwork).
1. Using a kitchen sponge
These sponges are too abrasive and easily scratch the paint. Always use a microfiber cloth specifically designed for car bodies.
2. Washing in the sun
The sun dries the soap too quickly = guaranteed streaks. Wash your car in the shade or early in the morning.
3. Using only one bucket
Always have two buckets: one for soapy water, one for rinsing the microfiber cloth. Otherwise, you'll spread dirt everywhere.
4. Forgetting the wheels
Dirty wheels are like muddy sneakers with a suit. Use a dedicated wheel cleaner and a soft brush.
5. Air drying
Water droplets leave limescale. Always dry with a clean, soft drying microfiber cloth.
