5 mistakes to avoid when washing your car
Share
Think you're doing the right thing by washing your car yourself? Beware, here are 5 mistakes many people make (and which can ruin the paintwork).
1. Use a kitchen sponge
These sponges are too abrasive and easily scratch the paintwork. Always use a special microfiber cloth for car bodies.
2. Wash in the sun
The sun dries the soap too quickly = guaranteed streaks. Wash your car in the shade or early in the morning.
3. Use only one bucket
Always have two buckets: one for soapy water, one for rinsing the microfiber cloth. Otherwise, you'll just spread the dirt everywhere.
4. Forget about the rims
Dirty rims are like muddy sneakers with a suit. Use a dedicated rim cleaner and a soft brush.
5. Air drying
Water droplets leave limescale deposits. Always dry with a clean, soft microfiber drying cloth.
