Do you really need to use polish on your car?

Scratches, micro-scratches, dull paintwork… Is polish the miracle solution or just a marketing gimmick? Here's the opinion of a detailing pro.
1. What exactly is a polish?
Polish is a slightly abrasive product. It corrects surface defects: oxidation, micro-scratches, and dullness. It is not a wax or a shampoo.
2. Who is it useful for?
If your car has wash marks, dull reflections or defects visible in the light, polish is an excellent solution.
It's also useful before reselling, a photoshoot, or simply to give your vehicle a second life.
3. Caution: Do not use lightly
Improper polishing can damage the paint. You must:
• The right product (depending on the type of varnish)
• The good pad
• A rotary or orbital machine
• A mastered technique
4. Polish = step 1 of professional “buffing”
At The Street Washers, polishing is the first step in the buffing process, which ends with a protective coating (wax or ceramic).
Result: a mirror effect + paint protected for several months.
